Changito 3x3 Quickies

Started these cards a few days ago, just colored the monkeys. Sunday Pudge brought up the banana stamp, so I stamped it on two small squares because I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I definitely want to buy one, so I can play with it whenever I want and of course Changito is going to have to eat. Then Bob called and said he got some Changitos in to sell and needed more examples. I've been tired and blocked, but I figured I could finish these easy enough. Hope you like the, just the beginning of the collection. You will be seeing lots more of him!! TFL I printed the sayings on the computer and punched them out with Stampin' Up's word window!

Hey Stupid

I loved this Background paper, but didn't have any colors to match it other than Bravo Burgundy. I had grand plans, but they went south. We need Stampin' Up to come out with some new brown tones. TFL

Changito Challenge!

Hi, this was for another challenge. The challenge was to create a background by sponging 2-3 different colors of craft ink and them stamping an image over the top in white craft ink. You wanna stamp quickly so you can cover it in embossing powder before it dries and heat, then stamp versa mark all over the top of the card and emboss again. When it's done it feels like you laminated it almost. Pretty cool, then I realized I went through all that trouble and covered most of it up, silly me! I don't have craft pads, which are like pigment ink, so I had to use regular pads and versa mark twice. Hope you like it! Can't really see it to well, but the images I stamped in white were a little guitar and the bravo stamp.

Whipper Snapper

Went to the Stamp store in Rome today and got some cooool Whipper Snapper stamps, including this one. I read online about something called Gamsol, which you use with colored pencils and blending stumps. This technique gives you very bright vibrant colors and smooths pencil lines. I read somewhere else that you could substitute baby oil, so that is what I did. The coloring actually looks better in person.

A few weeks ago I found some clear self sealing envelopes at Michael's for like $1.00, so I had to have them because I love the ones that Stampin' Up sells. The size was 3 1/8 x 4 1/8. This card is made 3 x 4 to fit that envelope.

Hope you like...TFL!

Changito!!!

I love these monkey's and couldn't wait for them to arrive! This is the first of, many, many cards that I plan to make with him. I've had this designer paper in the background since I started scrappin' and finally found the perfect use for it, but it took me an hour to find it! I plan to do 8 3x3 cards and a matching box with Changito as the door prize for our next Stampin' Up Party. I'd like to keep them a secret, but I am sure that I will have to share! I used the Fiskars texture plate to add texture to the designer paper and the triangle. This card was made for a layout challenge . TFL

SpaBella

Another Bella card. Shouldn't she be laying down with those cucumbers on her eyes? I should send this card to Bev, even if it is ugly because she could use the reminder! Working too hard sista!!

Sympathy

Orchid Opulence Sympathy Card. My boss's father-in-law passed away last Friday unexpectedly. She is currently in Buffalo with her family and our team at work is going to send her this card and an Applebee's Gift Certificate so they can go out to eat when they get back. They were supposed to be on vacation this week and we thought it would be nice not to have to cook after the trip back, not to mention that they probably didn't have much at the house since they were planning to be away. She is a great person and a good friend to each of us and I'm sure she will be appreciative of this gesture from the team. As a site, the Online Banking Department sent flowers to the funeral parlor also. What a great place to work where everyone is so thoughtful and caring. I used a pin to poke hole in the fold of the card, so I could manually staple some extra pages in, so all nineteen of us could sign it. I will have to watch them like hawks to ensure that they don't damage my card (LOL!). I like this card much better than the one I made the other day, so I will be duplicating it for Keith and Dom. I'll send the other card to Dom Sr.
The scan on this card isn't great, but the embossing that you can see most of is done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment prior to embossing on the first card, but forgot on the second one. I'm glad though because I like it better that way, so I added it to the first card also. By the third card, i was done with trying to layer the folded paper, so I decided to use the edge distresser and ink it!!

The Early Bird Gets the Worm

I love this card for two reason....1) Every piece is from the scrap bin and 2) it's the fastest card I ever made. Challenge yourself to use your scraps and especially those thin strips. I have tons of 1/4" strips that I have trimmed off pieces of paper or cards here and there, so I used a few of them to make this border. Happy Stamping!! Hmmm! Still no titles available.

Bessie

Can't make a Bella without making a Bessie or she gets jealous. I put these stamps away hoping to get them out of my head, but I just keep going back to them. I just love this stamp!!! To think I don't even wear shorts in public and she wears a bikini, gotta love her!

Rockin' Bella

Looks like Bella's Gramma came over and did her make-up today or it's really hot under those lights and time for a break. LOL! The musin notes in the background are by Stampendous and of course Bella is from Stamping Bella. card stock is real red and basic black from Stampin' Up. Used two-way glue from stampin' Up to add red ultra fine glitter from Stampendous to the guitar. Added Giga scalloped punch behind Bella and flourished with some doodles. Great card for today's teenage girls.

Thinking of You

Another card made with Baroque Motifs. I told you I loved it!! I wanted to make the whole card clear, but the plastic I had was not the right kind and it turned white on the fold, so I just used the plastic as an overlay. The background paper has the same design as the stamp and is from a prints sampler package that I received from Stampin' Up. I might add some ribbon to this, but haven't decided yet. It's pretty simple, but I like it. I used white Staz-On ink to stamp on the plastic and everything else is Ruby Red from Stampin' Up including the Brads at the corners. I wanted to use white brads so they would show up better, but can you believe it, I didn't have any. I'm sending this card to Aunt Linda. She is in St. Luke's nursing home and when we went to visit her the other day, there was not a card in sight. Cameron is working on one too and I will post it when he is done. I have the address if anyone else wants to send a card. Gramma also made a beautiful card to send, but I didn't think to scan it before she left yesterday.

Still no titles!!

Life Gives you many reasons to SMILE!

I'm trying to use my scraps and my stamp sets that I haven't used before. I changed this card 15 times and I'm still not happy with it, but I give up. Hopefully it will give someone reason to smile because it just gave me reason to be agitated and kept me up way too late.
For some reason my blog won't allow me to give this a title...more frustration! Good Night!!
Still can't add a title today and still not happy with this card, but I made a few changes to try and do something with the empty space up in the corner.

Baroque Motifs Sympathy Card

I love this new set from Stampin' Up called Baroque Motifs, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for a sympathy card. I have never made a sympathy card, but now I find myself needing to make three of them, for Keith, Dom and Big Dom. Gramma said to use silver, but I'm not sure if the ribbon makes it too festive looking. I am going to try and change it to black ribbon and see how that looks, but what do you think, is this okay for a sympathy card? I'm not sure you can tell, but it is embossed in Sterling silver.

Here it is with black ribbon, it does look a little better than the scan, but I like the silver better. What do you think? Maybe I'll be able to find some organdy silver.

Ribbon Grass

I saw a challenge online to use ribbon on your card, but to use it in a way that you have not in the past. Since i use ribbon on everything, it sure was a challenge. Hope you like it!

You Brighten my Days

Just a simple card, but cute. I love this stamp, it's from Stampin' Up. Colored with blender pens, markers and aqua painter. The colors didn't scan to well especially the ribbon. The card is made from the new groovy guava paper from Stampin' Up and bashful blue. The ribbon is actually almost the same color as the background, but for some reason it looks yellow. Hope you like it. It makes me think about sisters and how special they are, which I guess I've been thinking about a lot anyway.

Swirly Thanks

I received some envelopes that I ordered from Stampin' Up today, they are 6 3/4 by 3 1/4 and wanted to make a card that size. This is what I came up with, but I'm not sure I like it. I have some monkey stamps on the way from Stampendous that I hope I will be able to add later and turn this card around, but I figured I'd share it with you anyway. TFL
