Spring, I think NOT!!

This is a picture of my new Jeep Compass. I'm not sure if I should call it a car or a truck, so i just call it my buggy! I really like it a lot. I wanted a Dodge caliber, but my DH insisted we have 4 wheel drive, so we got this since they didn't have any AWD Calibers in stock! It gets much better gas mileage than my GMC Canyon did and the seats are much more comfortable! As you can tell it's snowing. We got some pretty heavy snow, school was canceled and our power was out from 8:00 am until 12:30 in the morning. Let me tell you it was really cold!! I don't know what people did before electricity and indoor plumbing. The toilet seat was cold enough indoors, I can't imagine having to go outside! Brrrrrrrr!

This is a picture of part of our backyard! I am uploading this mainly for my friend Pat who lives in CA and sent me beautiful pictures of her lush green backyard. There were pictures of her cat lying in the sun and pictures of her and her family enjoying the outdoors on Easter. I'm thinking maybe I should move to Clovis to be warm and so I can stamp with my buddy!
Behind those trees is a creek, you can sorta see it. With all the snow melting etc. it has been rushing. i can't wait for Spring so we can open the windows and listen to it. It sounds beautiful and is very calming!!

RAK Request

A mother has asked for some cards to be sent to her 4 year old daughter to celebrate her last chemotherapy… There is still a long road ahead! She also has a two year old daughter!

You can see the request here:
http://splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9219489#post9219489

The mothers name is Dana and Emily is her brave little daughter, the littlest is Samantha. This is the link to her blog My Treasured creations

As soon as I heard about Emily, I asked for her address. I sent a box with a card for each of the girls, some coloring books, crayons, Princess pencils and glitter and some TY beanie babies. I hope the box will brighten their day and they will share well.

It would be fabulous if everyone who reads this sent her a card to celebrate her courage to fight against this difficult disease and wish her well!! You can get the address from the SCS link above or e-mail me and I will be happy to provide it to you!

If any of you wish to learn more about Emily’s journey, please do not hesitate in visiting the following web page… www.caringbridge.org/visit/emy

From my friend Ahilim!

One Sunday while cruising SCS, I kept seeing card after card that was posted by SCS'er LIM. Well before the night was over I was her biggest fan! Ahilim makes some awesome cards, they are sooo adorable, her coloring is masterful and she is definitely the queen of stickles. I told Ahilim that her get well cards made me wish I was sick so I could get one and surprise she so generously sent me not only the card, but a bunch of adorable Whipper Snapper images, a bag of flowers and another bag of fibers! Ahilim is so sweet and I am so glad that we have become friends, even without the package of goodies. Thanks again so much Ahilim and Big Hugs to you!! You really made my day and it definitely needed making!

Check out Ahilim's blog, you won't be disappointed!!

Twisted Sistahs Challenge, Part V

This is my card for this week's challenge!! Even though I read the rules several times and printed them, I forgot the stripes! I will put them on the inside!

The Rules:

1) Man card, use any sketch, any theme (BD, Anniversary, etc.)
2) Bravo Burgundy and Night of Navy (you may use other colors as you like, but these are the primary colors for the man card.
3) Must use stripes (can by DP, wall paper, whatever)
4) Must use brads
Deadline is Friday, March 28, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. PST
Have fun!

I hate these brads, but I couldn't find anything else around here that would work! So I scuffed them up and ran them over the ink pads.

I love the background on this, I wish my picture was smaller so so much of it wasn't covered up! When I ran this DP through with the Cuttlebug embossing folder it pushed some of the white through and then I sanded it so more would show.

Stamps: Bronc Buster, Circle of Friendship
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Night of Navy, Basic Grey Coffee w/ Dessert
Ink: Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Paisley Cuttle Bug, Sanding Block, Brads, Punches

I think I don't like it because it doesn't have ribbon, so I may add something else at the bottom!

Cleaning Poem

Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..

I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into.
I was into it all night.<>

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!!

May the glory
and the promise
of this joyous time of year
Bring peace
and happiness to you
and those you hold most dear!

From my Boy!!

I received this wonderful gift from my son today, what a sweet boy he is! At 7 years old he is one of the most thoughtful and caring people I know. I hope that as he grows into a man, he doesn't forget these things that make him so special! No matter a bad day or good, he is always there with a smile and a hug. He says the sweetest things when you need to hear them most and it all comes from his heart and that's what I love the most!

While I was doing some Easter shopping yesterday and my DH was trying to keep him busy, he picked this out all by himself, of course Dad had to pay. LOL! The bracelet is silver with 8 colored stones and very beautiful, but I would have been happy with the box and the card attached that reads:

For my Mother
One bead to remind you how much you are loved,
Another to remember the good Lord above.
A bead to remind you to take care of yourself,
and another to remind you to cherish your health.
A bead to remember, to laugh, dance, and sing,
and the last to remind you of the jot that you bring.

I think he will make someone a wonderful husband one day, I'm just glad it's so far away!!

Friends, Fabulous Friends that fill my mailbox with love!

The cards posted below were all received from some wonderful friends that I have made through SCS. I am so blessed to have them in my life!!!!

I received this bright gorgeous card from my friend misshelenstamps!! As usual my photo doesn't do it justice, the colors are fabulous and I love, love, love it!! Thanks so much for brightening my day buddy! I really needed it!! The inside says, A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same! This was for a challenge that Helen and I had, she had to go a little bolder and brighter and my card is posted below. I had to use SU stamps and no coloring!
This card is from Anne Ryan, as you know she is very sweet and whether she likes to admit it or not, a very talented stamper!! Her cards are so unique and original!! How special I feel to have received this Anne Ryan original!! I hope you can see how shimmery the cardstock is and all of the little doodles. This card is beautiful and fabulous and don't you love that belt!! However Anne is a smart aleck and the inside reads, I know you are a size four! NOT!!!
This card and images are from wannabcre8tive! Thanks Shirt, it's so adorable! I had to pry it out of my mom's fingers!! Since she has this bunny at home, she left to make her own. LOL! The inside reads, Wishing you a basket full of springtime smiles!! I love the DP, doodles (which I cannot do) and the oh so cute ribbon!!
This little cutie is from coffeestamper! What an unexpected surprise!! Thank you so much for sending Easter blessings to my family. The inside sentiment says, sending you hugs from the Easter Bunny!! Cameron loves this card and has decided he was the intended recipient!! The stamp is adorable, love the DP and polka dotted ribbon!!
This is from Pat Smethers, she spoils me rotten!! What a precious card!! The inside reads: He has risen. Praying that you and your family experience the power of Christ each day. Thanks so much for your blessings and this sweet card! Love the colors/coloring, the dew drops look so cute on here and the CB bg is perfect! and Bless your sweet little heart for sharing your treasures with me!! This ribbon is awesome, love the pearls and you know I wanted one of these acetate boxes bad!! I didn't realize how tiny they are!! Love it!!

Chocolate Bars

Cameron loves to make chocolate, so we made a little of this and that! This is the only thing that is really complete so far and there are a few more. We molded our own candy bars, some are plain, some are dark chocolate, some have walnuts and some have almonds, they are all yummy.

They are decorated with paper from the Friends and Flowers Simply Scrappin' kit and a stamp from Great Impressions!

Thanks for looking! What do you think?

Twisted Sistahs Challenge Part IV

The Rulz:

Colors: Must use at least two of them. Other colors can be used to color with, but not paper, except white or off white!! Chocolate Chip (big surprise!), Green Galore and Purely Pomegranate.

Sketch: I have no idea how to draw one, well maybe I could, but too lazy for that, so I'll say to use a cuttlebugged panel, a DP or stamped panel and then your main image.

Entries should be completed by Good Friday. All cards made during this challenge should be sent to someone that has an RAK request on SCS!!

I'm still trying to decide if I want to add a sentiment on the front, what do you think? It's for this RAK:http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...57#post9232657

Stamps: Changito Dos
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, and Green Galore, DSP
Ink: Prismacolor Pencils
Accessories: Ribbon, punch, CB
Thanks for looking! Make my day and leave me a comment!!

Bird!! for FS58

Updated to add The Bird Part II, since they won't be heading for the circular file, but the mailbox due to special request, I thought I would add a sentiment. This is not the same card, the other one is already off in the mail!

This card has what I think is a funny story:

It's hard to believe that I was casing this gorgeous card by Becky: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=39860

Try as I might, I just couldn't do anything right and was getting really frustrated. Finally I just posted it so I could stop thinking about. When I uploaded it I though it looks kinda good from far away, so asked people to back up and look again, LOL!!

I was really surprised by the comments that I received, but I think they were just trying to make me feel better! You can check them out here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/851050?cat=500&ppuser=122612

Well the funny thing is I thought it was so ugly and now I have to make another one of them to send to people that wanted to rescue it from the trash bin!!

So tell me honestly, what do you think? I'm a big girl, I can take it!! LOL!!

Thanks for looking!!

Stamps: Natural Beauty
Paper: K&CO Chocolate Chip and Barely Banana
Ink: Prismacolor Pencils & Mineral Spirits
Accessories: Ribbon from Julie (Thanks Julie, I promise to take it off before this card hits the circular file!!) Brads and SU tag punch!

I've been tagged by Dawn

I've been tagged by Dawn and Erin!! (No way I could do this twice in a row!!)

Well I'm sitting here thinking how boring I am and what I can tell you, so...

#1. I'm boring!
#2. At work, I am very organized and timely! Everything needs to be completed and done so quickly. Since my son and stamping came in to my life, my home life is very disorganized and I am a procrastinator. I can sit for hours and accomplish nothing and I forget everything!
#3. I sometimes eat cookies, cake, anything junk food for breakfast and I am not ashamed! I love chocolate!! Funny thing is it just started within the last couple of years, I must be unbalanced!!
#4. I buy stuff compulsively and that really needs to stop. Most of it, I later wonder why I even picked it up. If I order it online, I can't wait for it to get here, but may not touch it for months.
#5. I hate clutter, you would not believe the sparseness of the other rooms in my house. I throw everything away!! Sometimes I'll want it later, but too late it's gone. But not in my stamp room, there is everything in here, cans, jars, bottles, books (I never read and probably never will!), envelopes from cards I have received................................................................................................
#6. I love to play games, any kind of games, but mostly cards. My mom says I used to sit on the stairs shuffling the cards and waiting for someone to get up. She says I was 3, but I think she exaggerates!! Surprised I didn't turn in to a gambler!!!
#7. I can't believe you might still be reading this, but in case you are I better finish. My aunt just says, I never shut up when I was a kid, talk, talk, talk and I think this is still true. Unfortunately my son takes after me and it sometimes drives me up a wall. Sorry Aunt Pudge!!! My poor husband!!

Now I must tag some others: Linsey, Tiffany, Ahilim, Susan, and Jean!

Hope I didn't boar you to death and you can check out their blogs!!

Eloise by Stampingbella

This is one of the new chichiboulie stamps from Stampingbella. Wow I just went there and they have more new adorable stamps!! These places are killing me!! There is always something new coming out that I want so badly, how does a girl keep up. and you just have too see the new flowers and crystals too!!! I want, I want, I want, stamps make me feel like a little kid!!
I made this card for "K" (see previous post) and the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS. The challenge was to make a card tool free. I thought tool free that's not so tough, I hardly ever use tools! Yeah right, wow couldn't believe how many things I wanted to use and couldn't!! This paper is really pretty, but you can't really see it in the photo. I need way more practice with copics, but even though I don't have a clue about shading they are still fabulous!! Isn't she just the cutest!!

Stamps: Eloise by StampingBella
Paper: K&CO and Green Galore
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Ribbon, Baubles and Gina K bling and dazzle plastic tags

I love my computer!!!

It's been a great week at the mailbox!!! This is from Pat Smethers, she sends me tons of fabulous images!! I hope to be able to use them all up one day, but it may not happen till I retire!! LOL!! Pat also sent some very cool sticker, I don't think you can really see them in this picture. I wish I could get better pictures of cards because this is just fabulous, rich beautiful colors, fabulous CB embossing. I looooove the way she does these bg's behind the image (I need to stop being lazy and give it a try), the way she uses the punches and you can't see it but there is a fabulous piece of embossed copper in the upper left with the photo corner punch and the brads!! You da bomb buddy!!

This little surprise package is from Julie Lacey! She sent me multiple copies of the wonderful new bella's and that bag is full of gorgeous May Arts ribbon!! What a nice thing for her to do!! If you stop by Julie Thanks so much, you rock!!!!
Last but certainly not least Shirley (wannabcre8tive) sent this package to my son Cameron. Well the bucket was all nicely wrapped and had ribbon on it and there was a cute lil bendable bunny, but I couldn't keep him off it before I took a picture because he was so excited and the bunny has been going to school and wherever else he goes!!. She also made him this fabulous card with a lady bobbing for apples because of Cameron's comment to her regarding the one she made with her teeth floating in the bowl!! (Hey laaaady, lay off the vodka already!!) Thanks Shirt, you really touched our hearts, what an extremely kind gesture!

This picture below is perfect for me because I have met some amazing people and wonderful friends through blogging and SCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all of you that stop by here and especially those that leave comments, you really make my day!!!

Featured Stamper and Helen's Challenge~~

This was made for this week's featured stamper challenge on SCS. I've had this DP forever and decided to finally use it today and this punch hasn't seen much use either, I tend to forget about using these things. It's so difficult to remember what you have when you have too much!! Anyway I really like how this came out and hope you do to!! Thanks for Looking!!!

Stamps: All Holidays
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla, and SU DSP
Ink: Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip Markers
Accessories: Tempting Turquoise Ribbon and Rhinestone Brads, Punches

Cupcakes....................

I get the feeling you are going to be seeing a lot of these cupcakes, I really love them!! Thanks again Helen, so sweet!!

I love this set, but not loving this card!! Trouble was I really wanted to use this red polka dotted ribbon!! Then I spilled the glitter on the liquid pearl icing and well that was it, it wouldn't come off!!

Twisted Sistahs Friday Challenge, Part III: Challenge with my nutty friends!! We were to follow all the rules:
1. Pink and brown birthday or get well card.
2. No Rocky Road Ice Cream on it!!
3. You cannot go to sleep until you are done.
4. It will require an excuse from a Dr. should that happen, No, one from Dr. Feelgood is not acceptable, at least the Dr. Feelgood stamp anyway. Deb and Shirt can use our real Dr. Feelgood's excuse not to complete the challenge.
5. You must put brads and ribbon on it.
6. This must be your own creation, not copied!!!
7. Must be completed by 11:00 IL time. May upload earlier if you like.
****Flirt, do not write these rules in crayons or your own terms, print the rules off the computer so you do not mis-spell or copy them down wrong!!!!

Stamps: Hero Arts
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, DSP
Ink: Copics and Archival Brillance Graphite (love this stuff, doesn't smear and smudge into your copics!! YAY!!!, thanks Gina K!!)
Accessories: brown gingham ribbon, nestabilities, scallop scissors, brads

The envelope reads: "For my Biotch!" LOL!!!!!

Well she can call me whatever she likes, when she sends me mail like this!! LOL! I love my friend Miss Helen and I cannot believe that she sent me this amazing gift, how very thoughtful and generous!! Helen is a beautiful person and so much fun, she really cracks me up!! This is another card she made me while she was traveling with hubby on business, no way I could be this put together and can you believe the card even matches the stamp package!! WOW!! This card is sooo pretty, I just love the colors and the DP is aweome!! The butterfly is all glittery and wonderful too!! I am a lucky girl to have such wonderful friends as Helen and I am thankful from the bottom of my heart!! Now hopefully I can find some mojo and make something with these adorable new stamps, she did let me know she is expecting a card!! Perfect timing I need 3 birthday cards and they will all be made with this wonderful gift!!

Skunked!!

Shirley (Wannabcre8tive) invited me to do the MFTSC20, but I don't have any MFT stamps, so I thought and thought and this is all that I could come up with!!! I got no Mojoo, weak I know and the skunk was already colored from this weeks FS, thanks for inspiring the blue skunk Mary!! I was also supposed to combine it with today's WT, but I forgot once I started thinking about the sketch so I'll just have to make another!! Can you tell I looooove this little critter, he is just too cute!! Oh and I can't get enough colors of the dotted ribbon, I was so excited when I found this blue at Michael's, Yummmy!!!

Stamps: Pun Fun
Paper: Blac, white, and Brilliant Blue
Ink: Prismacolor Pencils
Accessories: Swiss Dots CB. Nestabilities, Ribbon from Michael's
Techniques: used the Gina K version of Gamsol, it's fabulous and you get a big huge container!!
I made this card for "K". I later realized it might not be appropriate depending on her religion, so I've gone back to the drawing board! I had a hard time deciding what ribbon to use on this card because Kelly always uses the most fabulous ribbon!! I wanted fabulous ribbon too! I think it might be a bit over bearing on this card, but I love it anyway!! Double click the image and you should be able to see the swiss dots embossing on the main card and the horizontal green piece. I used the sakura gel pen to color in the dots on the green piece. As usual, I'm going to tell you it's much cuter IRL, do you believe me?? Anyway, I think this is the best coloring I've done with my copics, but still need lots of practice!!

Stamps: Stampendous
Paper: Positively Pink??, Green Galore, White
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Ribbon and Swiss Dots CB

For Sunday's FS on SCS!

I made this from Mary's gallery, which was awesome by the way!! I used the same layout and stamp set, but changed the colors and DP's!! Mary's was much cuter, her skunk was blue! I wish I had used livelier colors, but I had the pomegranate DP on the table and went with it!! I have a blue skunk all colored, so it will be coming soon!! This little guy is too cute and I looove this new set, can't wait to make some more cards with it! I used the paisley embossing folder from Cuttlebug and the paisley DP from SU!!

Stamps: Pun Fun
Paper: DSP Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Black
Ink: Prismacolor Pencils
Accessories: Organdy Ribbon, Paisley CB and square brads!

Even sadder when it's our babies!! Send her a card!!

Kelly at Diaries of a Stamper is asking for cards. Read her story below. We all make cards all the time, and I think this is a FANTASTIC idea.

Kelly's daughter Stephanie's best friend "K" is in need of some RAK's........Please."K" is 12 years old and had been Stephanie's friend since kindergarten. "K"had surgery to remove her large intestine and colon yesterday. She will now have a bag attached to her small intestine that comes through a port in her stomach, to remove waste from her body. She will be out of school for the rest of the year recovering, she will remain in hospital for about 10 days if all goes well and no infection arises. Her family had to travel a long distance to have this surgery done as we don't have a children's hospital in area.

Kelly thought it would be nice to shower her with well wishes when she gets home. She would love to have your help to do this, if you would like to send her a card you can email Kelly at kellyshadow@yahoo.com and she will give you the info. Please keep "K" and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
