Happy Bee Day! Quickie

Here is another card that was made for Cameron's actual birthday. Turns out I had about 5 minutes to make it, so it's not that great, but it is kind of cute. If I had more time, I would have liked to do something with the background. Since I have already given it to him, I guess it doesn't make much sense to think about it now.

This is a 3x3 card. The colors are barely banana, basic black and rose red. There is stickles on the wings, which is my favorite thing right now. The stamps are from Stampendous and might be found at Lil Deb's Stamp and Scrap Station.

Isn't that lil bee just the cutest?

I am working on today's featured stamper challenge and Cameron wanted in, so here's the card that he made! It came out very cute, don't ya think? Of course he had his done in a 1/4 of the time it will take me. I envy that.

I was the happy recipient of this card, which surprises me because usually they are for Gramma. It must have been the Nintendo DS that he got for his Birthday that sparked the love.

Last Minute Birthday Card for Cameron!

Well first of all hallelujah! I have been without internet for what seems like forever and finally got set up on Wednesday with HughesNet. I just have to tell you WildBlue sucks!They drove me mad for weeks and come to find out they don't even have parts to fix their own equipment, but they kept setting up appointments and blaming it on the installer. I'm sure they are hurting because I was on hold for like 2 hours waiting to get through to the retention/cancellation department. Well enough about that.

Needless to say I didn't make a single thing while my internet was down, partly because I was so depressed and partly due to some back problems that I have been experiencing.

Today was Cameron's birthday party. He turned 7 on Wednesday, which felt more like my birthday than his since I got my internet back. LOL! The party was at 2 o'clock today and at about 1 o'clock I figured I better throw together a birthday card, so here it is.

Not a single thing on this card is from Stampin Up, how sad! I used my prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color it, the cardstock is random, the ribbon is from Michael's and I received the image from someone that I sent some GIGA punch outs to. I put stickles on the candles to give them a little punch. The ribbon was perfect because it has some gold flecks, not sure you can see them.

This is my first time coloring a House Mouse stamp and I was intimidated, but I think it came out cute for a quickie. The inside says "are the best and so are you! Happy Birthday!

I really love this stamp, think I am going to have to buy it. I have been wanting some House Mouse stamps for a while now.

I hope I can get back to doing some more stamping not that I have a place to show case it. It's no fun when you don't have someone to share it with.

Ugly, but Funny

I made this card for my sister's new boyfriend. We'll see if he has a sense of humor or not. My sister is gonna pee her pants when I give it to him, can't wait!! We've only met twice!

The tag says Happy Birthday Big Boy and I made it as tacky as I could!!! Haven't decided about the fibers yet, but they sure add a lot of tack, don't ya think? I colored it with PrismaColor pencils and Gamsol. Added a little bling for belly piercing and I think the inside will say Hope you get everything you want for your Birthday and more....

Love these Round Tab and Spiral punches. The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Yo-Yo Yellow, Pink Passion, & Only Orange. TFL

Super Kid!!

Cameron goes back to school on Wednesday. So, I need to make a few cards to put in his lunches. He's a bit nervous about starting first grade because he didn't get to meet the teacher and other students in his class before the first day, like they did in Kindergarten. He's especially concerned because in his own words, "I'm not ready for second grade. I don't even know how to spell crocodile yet!" Well I laughed and explained that he was going to be OK because he was only going to first grade and most adults don't know how to spell crocodile. He continued to explain how I was wrong because this was the second grade that he was going to because he went to his first grade last year. Oh well, go figure!!

This is made using the following two techniques: Basic directions for the two techniques:
Emboss resist: stamp with versamark on glossy paper. emboss with clear embossing powder. When you apply the ink with a sponge or brayer, the embossed images with resist the ink. You might have to use a tissue to sop up any extra ink that remains on the images.

versamark resist: stamp with versamark on glossy paper. using a sponge or brayer, apply ink to the paper. the versamarked images will resist the ink and leave a faint image. This technique has also been called 'ghosting'.

To combine the two technqiues:
Stamp the images you want to clear emboss and emboss. Don't smear on the ink yet. Stamp the images you want to be 'softer' in versamark. Then smear/brayer on the inks.

And, you MUST do the clear embossed images FIRST. If you try to do the other images first (the ones for versamark resist), when you sprinkle on the EP for the emboss resist images, your EP will stick to ALL the images. The first technique is the blue and the second is the yellow. Anyway these techniques didn't come out to good especially the Versamark resist. I think the stamp may not have been completely clean or something. You can't really see it in the picture. I colored the image with PrismaColor pencils and Gamsol.

I bought these stamps at an Expo a few years ago. You should have seen the things she did with them, awesome. Check out her web site and you'll find some amazing products and samples at Bugawumps. I haven't bought anything from there in a while because I forgot all about this stamp. It got buried in with some of my son's things, but I can't wait to check it out again!

The paper is Stampin' Up: Night of Navy, Real Red, and Yo-Yo Yellow. The bacground stamp is also Stampin' Up (an oldy, but goody called Stars and Swirls). The ribbon is also from Stampin' Up but has been retired, but we have lots of new gorgeous ribbon.

Just Hangin' Around

Next up on the agenda...more ribbon! I just got the new double-stitched ribbon from Stampin' Up, but there are so many more great ribbons that I need to buy. I just love the Ribbon Originals and the Gingham too. I never seem to have just the right ribbon. Well anyway, couldn't wait had to have this clear set before Sept. 1st when they had the general release...so I figured I better use it before then considering I could have bought three of them for the price I paid with shipping. The bananas were cut out and tapped on the chocolate Chip pad too look more real, not sure it worked. Look for Changito at Lil' Deb's Stamp N Scrap Station soon! The paper is Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip and River Rock. The faux stitching is done with a set from Stampin' Up call All in a Row. The tag is done with Stampin' Up tag punches. This is colored with Stampin' Up markers Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, and Summer Sun. TFL

Happiness Always

This card is made with all Stampin' Up products. The colors are purely pomegranate, pretty in pink, and old olive. The ribbon is the new Double Stitched purely pomegranate. The part that is supposed to look like it is sewn was done with the set All in a Row and the flowers and the sentiment are from Happy Harmony. Stickles have been added over the top of the flowers. The pretty in pink piece was dragged across purely pomegranate and old olive. The old olive piece was peeled and dragged with old olive. TFL

Went to Enchanted Forest today, so not much time for stamping. I made this card after we got home for a challenge online. There are no prizes or winners, but it sure is fun and gets you motivated to do something. This is done with Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip and very Vanilla paper. The background is sponged using Always Artichoke, Really Rust, More Mustard, and Chocolate Chip. The stamp set is In the Spotlight from Stampin' Up! The circles are made with the awesome scallop punches from Marvy Uchida. The brads and twill tape are also from Stampin' Up. Please feel free to contact me for more info about Stampin' Up products. Basket Case!

Purchased these stamps today at SweetHeart Stamps in Rome. I thought they were too cute. The inside reads: All Work and No Play can make you a Basket Case. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and used Gamsol to blend it! Wish I had gray for the mouse, but no such luck. The stamps are from a company called Art Gone Wild. TFL!

Another stamp purchased from Lil' Deb's Stamp N Scrap Station, isn't this little bee just adorable. Wish I would have done this a little differently though so he would stand out more. Working on another version now. The paper is from AC Moore and the designer paper is by Basic Grey. There is glitter on the bees wings, but it doesn't show up too good. TFL
