I've been tagged!!

I've been tagged by Lynn at The Queen's Scene, if you've never visited Lynn's blog you really need to go and check it out, her work is fabulous. Now I'm supposed to list seven random things about myself, so here it goes.

7 random things about myself:

1. I'm more addicted to buying stamping stuff than I am to actually using it.

2. I want to adopt a child, but my husband is against it.

3. Everything must go! I cannot stand clutter and I hate when anyone moves anything from exactly where I think it belongs!

4. I love Fall and Halloween, its my favorite time of the year, but I miss being a kid at Christmas!!

5. I have been out of work since 3/17/08. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have been in a lot of pain. That's why I don't post as often or leave as many comments. It really bothers me to be on the computer and to stamp.

6. I always wanted to be a photographer and would love to take classes and someday maybe even have a career doing it.

7. I want a Hobby Lobby close to the 13318 zip code or I'm gonna have to move to Michigan! It seems like they have it all there, the best stamp stores and very nice people!!

Now its my turn to tag 7 other bloggers:

Random stuff tag from Donna

Random stuff tag from Donna

10 years ago I was: 10 years ago today I was getting married in 9 days. I worked for Fleet Bank, which is now Bank of America.

5 things on my to-do-list today: Make a card, get some images stamped that need to be sent out, upload RAK's I received, cut and mount stamps, and getting ready for a Garage Sale!

Snacks I love: I used to love all kinds of snacks, anything with chocolate, chips, ice cream, slim jims, and pepperoni and cheese. Since I have been sick, I barely eat at all and have not touched one piece of chocolate or any of my other favorite snacks. I have lost around 60 lbs. (YAY!! for the weight loss, boo for having to be sick to do it!!)

Things I will do when I am a millionaire: quit working, remodel our home and put on an addition so my mom can come live with us, travel to see all my new SCS and Blogging friends, make wise investments and open a stamp/gift shoppe.

Places I have lived: I have lived in NY all my life. Actually in one house for about 33 of my 39 years. After my mom moved, we moved into the house I grew up in in Frankfort. I have also lived in Utica, Clayville and now Cassville. Not very adventurous I guess!!

I'd like to know this stuff about the following people because I didn't know them 10 yrs ago:

Lim - The voices in my head
Bonnie's Blog
Judy - Designs by Nanny
Dawn - Dawn's Special Creations
Lynn - The Queen's Scene

I look forward to your answers!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #3

My bestest blogging buddy Lim sent me these sweet images and encouraged me to join this challenge! I was a bit skeptical and still am, but here is my card. For some reason the bib on her dress looks yellow, but it is green! Since she said she would forget she knows me if I don't post it I figured I'd better!! I know she couldn't stop loving me though! LOL!!

The Challenge:

3-2-1

We would like you to use a Recipe 3 brads or buttons 2-pattern papers and 1 flower.
We have a gorgeous Sweet Art Ebony pickin apples stamp kindly donated by Deb up for grabs this week, To be in with a chance to win it, just leave us a comment with a link to your work, and we will randomly pick 1 winner next week.

If you would like to see the design teams creations or enter the challenge you can do so at A Spoon Full of Sugar!

I used Basic Grey designer papers, Chocolate Chip and Pink Passion. I also used Stickles and Spica Glitter pens. It is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. Not sure if you can see it, but I also pierced all around the edge. This stamp is by Rachelle Anne Miller.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!! Good thing it's a random drawing!! LOL!

Woo Hoo/ TSBC #15

I made this card for my nephew Marcus and TSBC#15!

The rules:

Use Blue and green
Use at least one brad and flower
Should be cutesy

Since I am now taking on Flirt's role of slacker I felt that meant I didn't need to follow the directions either! So I substituted the eyelets for the brads and the banana for a flower. Otherwise, I think I followed directions, there is blue and green and it's kinda cute!!

Thanks for looking!

With Sympathy for (SCS'er) Orangegymnut's (Tanya's) Mom

Many of you may remember that there was an RAK request for Tanya's step-dad, Sadly he passed away and I just wanted to send condolences to his wife. The inside reads "Your loved one will always be as close as a memory, and the God of all comfort as close as a prayer.

I did the piercing with the Darice plastic mesh shapes found at AC Moore in the sewing area!!

I also made a ScorPal border around the edge of the white, but it doesn't show up very well in the photo!!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

tamps: Close as a Memory
Paper: lack and Purely Pomegranate
Ink: Copics colored on stamp and spritzed with alcohol
Accessories: Ribbon, Dragonflies from the jewelery section, ScorPal.

RAK from Ks. Stamper

Thanks so much Ev, how sweet of you to take the time to send us these cards and images. I know you are very busy this time of year, which makes it even more meaningful.
This card is so dang cute, Cameron loved it and so do I. That lil cowboy is too cute, love the rope edge, the corners, the horse shoes on the paper and the little scene you created, it's fabulous!! Thanks for everything, including the images!!
I love the card it is too sweet and cute and I could definitely use a shower of blessings. The inside is wonderful too it says; Glitter, Glitter, Everywhere! On my clothes and in my hair. I stamped this card added some glue, Then sprinkled some glitter just for you! and all around it there is glitter...too, too cute! I love the cowboy images too, thanks so much for everything. My mom went back and placed another order there, she's in love with your new man!! Uh Oh!

Make a Wish!!

I have been working on a couple of cards here and there it just takes me forever because I have to take so many breaks. Hopefully this card is appropriate for a birthday, do you think because that's what I made it for? This image is just too cute! I borrowed it from my mom and wanted to use it ASAP and I happened to need a Birthday card!

There are stickles on the stem, the fly aways and the yellow part of the dandelion, not sure they show in the photo! The paper is from DCWV Spring stacks. I also pierced around the edges of the paper with the circles and then outlined it green. The mouse stamp is Penny Black and the sentiment is from Penny Black also.

So what do you think? Thanks for looking!!

The purse filled with love!!

Our annual Stamping and Scrapping convention was held on Memorial day weekend. Cameron and I look so forward to it every year, it is too much fun and there are always amazing finds and tutorials. Unfortunately, I couldn't go due to health reasons! Both my cousins went and they really wanted me to go with them, they even offered to push me in a wheelchair, LOL! Anyway, they are both named Kim, so it's Big and Little for them. Big Kim made me this awesomely adorable little purse at one of the tutorials with a Get Well Wishes and Thinking of you cards inside. Isn't it just adorable and how sweet of her to think of me! Thanks so much Kim, you are a priceless treasure! You'll have to come up again soon and make me laugh!!

Thanks for looking!!

RAK's from my bestest blogging buddy Lim!!

Lim is the kindest sweetest person. We chat everyday, even though she has been busy with moving. Both she and her husband Oscar have filled my heart to overflowing!! They are amazing people and I love them to pieces!! Lim sent me this most adorable card and some images from:

Sugar Nellie and HÄnglars StÄmplar...

Check Lim's blog for details on a weekly contest! She has recently become a part of the design team for A Spoon Full of Sugar. I am so happy for her, she is definitely deserving of this honor!!

She also sent my son these two games and as he said this awesome card!! He was so shocked and excited, he couldn't believe they were for him and thought Christmas came early!! You should have seen the look on his face it was priceless! He played them from the time he got them until he went to bed. Normally I wouldn't let him play so long, but he was sooooo excited, I had to give him a break. Lim this was way to generous of you and I wish you wouldn't have spent so much, but we both thank you from the bottom of our hearts and don't dare tell me to shut up again you maniac!!
Not because of this gift, but in spite of it because I asked you not to, "I am so glad that I commented on your amazing cards many months ago and that we have become such great friends. Thanks so much for your kindness, generosity and love. Big hugs, kisses and love to both you and Oscar!!!

Mom's Simply beautiful!

Ever notice I post more of other people's cards than my own lately? It has just been to hard for me lately, when I stamp my whole body hurts. I have to take baby steps so it takes forever!

Anyway my mom showed up with these cards the other day and my jaw just dropped, I just don't think of things like this, but although she says they were simple, I say they are absolutely beautiful!!!!!

The star stamp had these little tiny dots around it, but I like it better without them.

Everyone keeps saying mu mom should get her own gallery! My mom says she is absolutely technically challenged and she could never do it. Just got her on the computer recently and she is doing very well with that, so one step at a time! Right now she doesn't own a scanner or a digital camera either. But I love to show off her work anyway and she has been a card making machine lately!!

You have to hear her when we are in the car, she is constantly saying look at those clouds or trees, or sunset etd. wouldn't that make a beautiful card. She makes me laugh, but it works for her. Obviously I'm glad I'm usually driving!! Thanks so much for looking! Leave her a comment and make her day!

Cameron's Penguin!

Cameron made this adorable little penguin card and asked me to put it on my blog!! Hope you like it as much as I do, especially his beady little eyes!! Thanks for the image Shirley (wannabcre8tive) on SCS. Take a look at her gallery, it's fabulous!!

You can see he put it to good use and even made his own bow without help this time!!

Thanks for looking!

RAK for a 13 year old boy. He has a tumor on his brain stem with brain lesions

He is 13 years old. He has a tumor on his brain stem with brain lesions.

He loves movies, video games, going to church with family, comics, and wrestling (especially John Cena).

Here is a little biography of La'Cyrus and his illness off of the website...thought you might like to read more...

Praise the Lord. I want to take this opportunity to tell you a brief story about La'Cyrus and how his illness took place. He was born on April 19, 1995, weighing 6 lbs. 9 ozs. He was always a happy healthy little boy. At age 3, he broke the big bone in his left leg. During this break, we found out that he had soft and fragile bones which could easily be broken. So as a little boy growing up, wanting to do all the things little boys do, he was limited. We were afraid to let him play any sports or horseplay. Although La'Cyrus was limited from a lot of things, he has had a GREAT life. For enjoyment we have more family activities.

When he started school, he grew very close to his teachers' hearts. Some would say they loved him as if he were their child and I appreciate those who showed and gave their love to him.

As time went on, in August of 2007, La'Cyrus was in the 6th grade. His teachers were wonderful and have compassion for what they are called to do. August 25, 2007, was the last day La'Cyrus was in school.

On Saturday, August 26, 2007, he woke up early that morning crying. He said he could not see clearly and he was numb on the whole right side of his body. We took him to his family doctor who ordered an MRI. When the test results came back, we were referred to Jackson, MS. There, at Blair Batson, they did many tests and found that La'Cyrus had lesions in his brain stem and at the base of the brain. He was admitted that same day.

They continued to do more tests to see if they could operate or do a biopsy. We found out it was inoperable due to the location. The plan was to treat him and pray to see a decrease in the lesions or treat them until they were gone. La'Cyrus is being treated for ADEM (Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis). This causes the central nervous system to not function like it should. La'Cyrus has a problem with balance when walking, he has double or blurred vision, the right side of his body is weaker than left, his hearing in his right ear is dull, his appetite is poor, and his memory is not the same.

In April 2008, La'Cyrus returned to the hospital due to his heart rate dropping below 40. He was in ICU for several days. The doctors have sent him home and now we wait to go back to see his neurologist soon. We were told the lesions have spread.

Why did this happen? I don't know. What I do know is, God is in control of this situation and yours too. Whether happy or sad, sick or health, poor or wealthy, black or white, God has the final say. So why complain?

As each day passes, I see new miracles each day. Just another smile from La'Cyrus brightens my day. I find myself being thankful for what is, than what is not.

Please continue to pray for La'Cyrus. Prayers move mountains.

He loves getting mail. Even though he can't read as well as before, he enjoys having someone read the cards and mail to him.

I sent an e-mail to John Cena via his MySpace explaining this boy's situation and asking if there was something special he could do for La'Cyrus. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm still hopeful that he will come through!!

If you'd like to send a card to La'Cyrus, please feel do:

La'Cyrus P.
P.O. Box 924
Bay Springs, MS 39422

This is through the site Make a Child Smile. So you can just sign your name, or if you want to put MACS under it, that is OK too.

Thanks for helping to make a child smile!!

The pictures aren't so great, much better IRL!

I have no idea what I am going to write or stamp on it yet!!

Cameron's New Friend!

As it turns out a fellow SCS'er Sue aka: coffeestamper also has a 7yo boy. They sent Cameron some cars images and her son Christopher asked Cameron if he would make him a card with it!! Well of course!! Cameron is very excited to have someone his own age to play with online. So we made him this card and Cameron bought him some surprises with his own money. I told you he was sweet and generous!! Only a 7 yo really knows what to pick out for another 7 yo. LOL! He got him a light frog that slides on walls, 3 packages of stickers and the little truck!

Cameron colored the images and picked out the colors and I helped him cut them. We also put crystal effects on the windows and gave tow mater some googlie eyes. I think it came out awfully cute and I am proud of Cameron for doing this with his own money. Hope you like the card too!

Can't wait to see what Christopher has to say, we haven't put it on SCS because it is a surprise. Christopher is also supposed to be making Cameron a card, how cute is that?

Cameron has been asking me questions about him all day and asked if he could go visit him today. LOL!

Lobster Challenge

This was an RAK from Pat Smethers to Cameron. He issues her challenges all the time. This time it was to make a lobster card using Red, Pink and Black. When he opened it he said WOW, she did a great job!! Then he giggled over the beach lady for about 10 minutes. After that he found the little license plate wrapped in tissue and went nuts!! He thinks she's from another country. Might as well be from NY to CA. Pat sent these images because she challenged Cameron to make a beach card using blue and green and dew drops, guess I'll have to give some up!! Thanks so much Pat, you are so special to us!!
I just love this card, it is so fun and the images are awesome. I can see these too on the beach together and he gets so excited his hat and glasses pop off. LOL!!!
